Offensive Explosion Drill
This is a 1 v 1 soccer drill without the soccer ball that stresses speed and reaction time. Soccer defenders must stay balanced while trying to prevent soccer attackers from beating them to space.
With 2 cones lined up approximately 6-8 feet apart on a line, an offensive player and a defensive player face each other standing on opposite sides of the line. Neither player can cross the line in this drill.
Once the whistle or clock starts, the offensive person tries to fake out the defensive person and touch one of the cones on each side with their foot before the defensive player can put their foot out first to block them. The offensive person can target either cone as many times as they'd like. This speed and reaction soccer drill should run for 30 seconds.
