When we asked TeamSnappers what they love about work, the most common theme was “the people.” Since we spend a massive amount of time working together we want to introduce our awesome teammates through our #TeamSnappersTalk series.
Meet Kelsey Woodard. Kelsey is a software developer and an essential team player within our engineering group. She’s been busting out code and sometimes a song or two at our company karaoke events for nearly two years.
What do you love about working at TeamSnap?
I love working at TeamSnap because my co-workers are smart and driven, but no one takes themselves too seriously, and we have fun while working on challenging problems. Additionally, having no commute is a bonus and affords me more time to spend outdoors. Oh, and dogs are allowed in the Boulder office (ok, I do commute on occasion).
What are you looking for in a team member joining the team?
I look for a few things — drive, curiosity, and humility. No one here has an ego and everyone is willing to step in when needed. My co-workers are passionate about making both the product and the company a better place as we continue to grow.
Tell me about your best day at TeamSnap.
February 2, 2018. Tucson, Arizona. Last night of our company summit and karaoke night (also my 30th birthday). Everyone was enthusiastically cheering each other on without judgment and singing along to the songs. The energy, support, and team spirit in the room were palpable, and I thought to myself, “there is no other way I’d want to celebrate my birthday.” I work with awesome humans.
What made you want to join TeamSnap?
When I consider a company, I look at three things — people, product and opportunities to learn and grow. I found TeamSnap on Outside Magazine’s “Best Places to Work” list shortly after I’d been the captain of my karaoke team. Being captain felt like I was herding cats, and I knew immediately that this product would be useful to me and that I’d have something to contribute. Once I learned more about TeamSnap and interviewed, it was obvious that the company had smart and genuinely kind people working on interesting projects. I knew I’d be challenged here and have opportunities to expand my skill set learning from more experienced engineers.
