Here at TeamSnap we’re growing our team fast. We know that considering a new role at a new company can be overwhelming. So we’re sharing stories from our hiring managers and team members because a job posting is just a job posting, but getting to know your team before you apply means way more!
Meet co-founder and chief creative officer Andrew Berkowitz.
What made you want to join TeamSnap?
Well, I’m the founder, so I didn’t join TeamSnap so much as make it. 🙂 TeamSnap started as a passion project — we knew there had to be an easier way to manage our soccer team. Over the years, TeamSnap has grown from four friends to 150+ people. What I’m most proud of — and what makes me excited to come to work every day — is that we’ve built a company that still feels like friends working together on their passion project.
Tell me about your best day at TeamSnap.
A great day at TeamSnap has three things: solving a tough problem, having a laugh with my teammates, and hearing from a customer that we made their day better. I think we all want to be challenged, enjoy the heck out of our work, and then know that we’re making a difference in people’s lives.
What are you looking for in a team member joining the team?
Passion, skill and ownership. The most successful TeamSnappers are the ones who understand their role in our mission, see what needs doing, and then dive in to make it happen. My job as a leader is to empower, support, encourage, and then get out of the way.
What do you love about working at TeamSnap?
Freedom. Not just the freedom to work from a coffee shop, a co-working space or Colombia, but the freedom to do my best work unencumbered by antiquated company policies held over from the days when work involved boiling vats of whale oil in hot factories. TeamSnap is all about empowering employees, not limiting them. I work hard and love my job because we all have the freedom to do our best work the best way.
