Student athletes are a special breed. They’ve put the hours in, worked hard, trained hard and studied hard, and that dedication often shows as they prepare to take on the next match in the game of life–college.
We know how valuable it is for both youth and adults to participate in sports. Friendships are made, values are forged, and character is built. That’s why we want to honor a special group of student athletes as they transition into adult athletes.
We’re partnering with Positive Coaching Alliance to honor U.S. Class of 2017 high school athletes who deserve special recognition. The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship Program awards scholarships to athletes who show personal mastery, leadership and honor for the game. A Triple-Impact Competitor is an athlete who works to improve oneself, teammates and the game as a whole.
TeamSnap has made a donation that will go to the pool of money that the PCA will award for this scholarship. Winners will receive scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000, based on their essays explaining how they meet the standard defined in Elevating Your Game: Becoming a Triple-Impact Competitor by PCA Founder Jim Thompson:
Any high school junior in the United States who plays for a high school or club team and has a grade point average of 2.5 or above may enter by submitting an application by May 31.
We’re excited to help the PCA give our young athletes a leg up on their way to college!
