TeamSnap Impact spent the day in Brooklyn with Parkway Hoops, a youth basketball organization in Brooklyn, NY.
Parkway is a basketball organization and community that aims to be a place where kids of all ages can play. Both a recreational and competitive basketball league for kids of all ages, the main goal of Parkway Hoops is to encourage physical activity and a love for the game of basketball, as well as promote teamwork and sportsmanship. The league offers a fun, safe, and supportive environment for kids to develop their skills and compete against other teams.
The day started with a special performance from former Harlem Globetrotter and street basketball legend Jackie Ryan. Jackie taught a bunch of kids in the community how to spin not just one ball on their finger, but three! Following the trick show, there was some basketball games and skills sessions led by the Parkway staff.
There was also local favorite eats served, like pizza from Joe’s and Pasta Louise’s pasta and dessert specials. TeamSnap Director of Community Impact Lance Lee spoke to the community about TeamSnap Impact and the work being done at other youth sports organizations across the country.
