TeamSnap for Business is ranking the 4 most passionate football fans in the NFL Playoffs
As we roll into February, a month symbolized by Valentine’s Day and love in the air, TeamSnap wants to honor this fun season on the yearly calendar. Introducing Love of the Game, a content series where TeamSnap will celebrate the unruly passion (and love) of sports fans. Let’s face it, loving a sport or team or game is embedded deep into our hearts and minds.
For many of us, loving a sport or team starts at a young age. It usually is the first youth sport we ever try with our families, the games we’d watch at home, and the sports we’d talk about at school with our friends. Sports passion and sports love is embedded deep into our culture. At TeamSnap, we want our youth athletes to stay passionate fans throughout their lives, because there’s nothing better than sports.
The end of January also means the NFL Playoffs are heating up. We’re down to just 4 teams left in Conference Championship weekend, all vying for a coveted spot in Super Bowl LVIII. NFL Football fans are arguably some of the most passionate fans across the United States and world. Think of multi-day-long tailgates, dressing up in unique outfits, and cheering your favorite team along in sub-zero temperatures.
For this week’s Love of the Game installment, let’s rank the 4 most passionate football fanbases amongst the NFL Playoffs field.
The smallest NFL city on our list, Green Bay, Wisconsin is full of Packers fans, or Cheeseheads as they lovingly call themselves. And while this is the smallest market on our list, these fans take the No. 1 spot in our rankings of the most passionate football fans.
Lambeau Field, home of the Packers, sits nestled between the quiet suburbs of the town of Green Bay. The mammoth structure soars high above the suburbs streets, and stories tell you that on Sundays, you won’t find a soul in these houses. Why? Because they’re all at the game.

A fanbase that literally owns the team, the Packers are owned by more 500,000 community shareholders, proving their vested interests in the success of the team. Green Bay will be without a Super Bowl in 2024, but that doesn’t stop this passionate fanbase from taking a No. 1 spot on our list.
There’s something special about a fanbase that offers unquestioned support for their team despite a history of losing. The Cleveland Browns have not won a Super Bowl title in 75 years as a team, but that doesn’t stop this city from loving their football team.
A recent study even ranked Cleveland fans as the 10th most passionate group in all of professional sports. For good reason. Colorfully dubbed the Dawg Pound, Browns fans love spending their Sundays dressed in brown, orange, and white.

In 2021, the Browns enjoyed a 99.2% attendance rate, the highest rate in NFL football. And keep in mind, the team went just 8-9 that year. If that doesn’t scream passion and love of your team, we don’t know what does.
Bills Mafia had to find a spot on this list. Easily the most rambunctious group on our list, Bills fans have made a lasting impression for themselves. Playing outdoors in one of the coldest NFL climates, the city of Buffalo will do anything for their beloved Bills.
Take a quick momentum to scroll Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #BillsMafia and you’ll see just how passionate this fanbase truly is. From jumping on tailgate tables, to shoveling the stadium’s snow before a playoff game, Buffalo is a city that loves football and loves their Bills.

In conclusion, the only team on our list remaining in the 2024 Conference Championship Weekend, Kansas City Chiefs fans have enjoyed a lot of winning since Patrick Mahomes took over at quarterback. And, winning has only made this fanbase even crazier about their team.
Chiefs Kingdom can be described more as a “way of life” than a simple fandom. One of the best home-field advantages in sports, Arrowhead Stadium is a formidable away game for the other 31 teams in football. Ranking with a top-10 home attendance rating every year since 2012, Chiefs Kingdom lives and breathes with their NFL franchise. And this fanbase may just be gifted with a third Super Bowl victory in the last five years.
