I love working for TeamSnap. I’ve been here since October and it just keeps getting better. People ask me all the time why I think it’s so great, and I’ve narrowed it down to my Top 3 reasons.
And oh yeah, we’re hiring.
1. People are fun and supportive.
First and foremost, it’s super freaking fun. They hire great people which leads to fun conversation and teamwork that doesn’t feel forced. Although we might goof off, everyone’s opinion is valued. Even though I’m probably the most junior developer on the team, I regularly get asked for my opinions and ideas. Our C-level executives are constantly updating the rest of the company on what they’re doing and asking for feedback. If you have an idea about how to make our product better, everyone wants to hear it. There’s great visibility and teamwork.
2. Our bosses want us to be happy.
Everyone on every level is supportive about both life and work issues. My managers actually care about my happiness and make sure to check in regularly. Co-workers in different departments are helping me stick to my New Year’s resolutions, despite being spread across the country. I know that if I ever need anything, there are tons of people who are willing to help. And that happiness extends to the “on paper” stuff too. We have great benefits, including some of my favorites, like working from home or our awesome Boulder office, fully paid healthcare and a learning stipend.
3. Work-life balance is a real thing.
We have actual, real, legit work-life balance. We have unlimited vacation time. We set our own hours. If you’re not feeling well and want to sleep all day, then code all night, no one will bat an eye when you let them know. Of course, everyone checks in with each other regularly, and we don’t drop any balls, but taking some “you time” is totally encouraged.
This might fall out of my Top 3 but should be mentioned: Although we’ve yet to see it rewarded yet, if you work here for 100 years, you get a Ferrari. I can’t wait to get mine!
